Vacation Andalusia, Spain; Jerez, Tarifa

We continued our tour of Andalusia traveling to the Southernmost tip of the Iberian Peninsula, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic, and Africa is so close you can almost reach out and touch it. Tarifa, a relaxing beach town where the fish is always fresh and you can hop on a ferry to Morocco any day. We chose to just enjoy being on vacation in this little town, while it was tempting, Morocco really deserved more time than we had to give. Perhaps we can visit on another trip to Africa in the future.

Our last stop in Andalusia was Jerez, a beautiful drive an hour from Tarifa. We flew out of Jerez, but had an afternoon to explore the town before leaving. Jerez is actually is the Spanish pronunciation of "Sherry", which it is famous for producing. Harvey's Bristol Cream and Tio Pepe brands find their manufacturing home in Jerez. We were able to tour the elegant Tio Pepe facility and learn about the making of this sweet aperitif.
