Labor Day Family Beach Trip
This Labor Day Weekend, we traveled to Navarre Beach, FL to visit with family. Shane's Mom, Uncle and Grandparents live in FL, and we invited Heathers family to stay at a nearby condominium so we could all spend the long weekend together.
We took our Franklin with us because he recently had a neck injury and was still recovering on medicine. Our boy is freakishly strong and loves to pick up rocks that are bigger than his head. We have no idea why? Over time, this has caused him some neck problems, so we have recently removed all the rocks from our back yard, to take away the temptation...quite a feat. He still digs one up occasionally, but for the most part I think we have solved the problem. I think he enjoyed his beach getaway as the "only" dog with Mom and Dad!
On the way to the Beach, we stopped at Peach Park in Clanton, AL for some ridiculously good fried peach pies. If you ever head that way, I highly recommend it. Florida was nice and warm, not too crowded, and we enjoyed watching Lanie Beth play in the water and sand for the first time. There was kite flying, hot tubbing and lots of eating. All in all, a good getaway!
