We're going to be Parents in 40 days!
For Details Please Keep Reading...
It all started on January 19th, 2012 when we received a call from one of our friends who asked us if we would be interested in a private adoption. We spoke with the adoption attorney and after much discussion we decided to step out in faith and take this journey! The baby boy was due around Valentine's Day in South Florida and we had a lot to do in a very short time. Ten days later, we received the news that the birth parents felt it was in their best interest to chose a local couple to adopt their baby.
WOW.
Just 3 days later, on February 3rd, the adoption attorney calls us back. She tells us that she has been looking for an adoptive family for quite some time now, for a case near and dear to her heart. A young girl in her extended family is expecting a baby girl around Easter, and she has chosen adoption in the best interest of herself and her child. Our attorney then tells us that this young girl viewed our profile and wanted to know if we would adopt her baby.
REALLY?
So I asked the Lord..."could you confirm this for me please? I really need to hear from you before I go forward again". That same night, I go to a prayer meeting with some friends. During a very special worship time, I hear a very soft, very clear voice say "Her name is Hallie". Just to be clear...I don't hear voices. I looked around and it was evident to me, I was the only one who heard the voice. I promptly Googled "meaning of the name Hallie" on my phone, and what I saw here literally amazed me:
Hallie means "Praise the Lord". It is the short form of Hallelujah.
SERIOUSLY.
Needless to say, we have been very busy since February 3rd! We are chin deep in Home Study paperwork and we have a trip planned to Orlando, FL on March 15th to meet the Birth Mother. Her due date is April 11th, and we will be in Orlando for the birth and the week following. We appreciate your prayers for the continued good health of the Birth Mom and baby, and for a safe delivery and fast recovery.
For those of you who are not aware, Shane had a vision for an Adoption Ministry at our Church in 2009, and Answering the Call is now assisting families throughout the adoption process. Click on the link to read more about this ministry. We understand that adoption is the very heart of God, we are all His adopted sons and daughters! He so graciously confirmed that this is the path He is choosing for us, and we know that it pleases Him for us to take this journey in faith. We acknowledge Him as Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our Provider, and we also have a promise that as we go forward, in obedience to His plan for us, He will supply all of needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:19.
We have about 40 days to prepare for baby Hallie. A lot of important things happened in the Bible in 40 day increments, so we are in good company! Our immediate need is to raise funds. Private adoption is a very expensive endeavor, one we would not have chosen, and yet it chose us. So, we have used our savings in the best way we could have imagined, to welcome a new life into our home! The balance remaining is still very significant, and we are not eligible for the grants that are available for adoption through a 501c-3 agency, because it is a private adoption. We were quick to remind the Lord of what He already knew about our finances! We still felt led to go forward. We believe that as we bring Hallie home, the miraculous story that is her life will most certainly Praise the Lord!
If you would like to come alongside us in support of this journey, your gift of any amount will be greatly appreciated. You can make a donation directly into Hallie's Adoption Fund Account by using the Donate Now button below. You will be directed to PayPal for your secure credit or debit card transaction. You do not need a PayPal account. You can also mail donations to our physical address below. These personal gifts are not tax deductible.
We thank you for being a part of our life and our journey.
